Add a Search Feature to your Blog

It is easy to add a Search Feature to your blog.

It will look like the search box just under my picture (not the one at the top of the page).

Follow these simple instructions:

1. Click the Layout tab from your blog Dashboard.

2. Click Page Elements.

3. Click Add a Gadget above the section you want to put your search box in.

4. Click the plus sign next to HTML/Javascript.

5. Type Search this blog (or whatever you want) in the Title box.

6. Copy and page this HTML code in the text area. Do not modify anything.

7. Click Save.

8. Click Preview.

9. You may have to drag the search gadget into a new area until you get it positioned where you want it.

10. To test it click View Blog.

When I installed the google site search (from adsense) on my myanmar2day site, I tried to make it appeared within my site design. After a few trials and errors, I succeeded. I put the google ad search box in the side bar and direct it to open in the "search" page. Then, I put the google's search result code in the "search" page, and make it hidden in the header links. This solve the problem.

Personally I prefer to offer the "Pax" search tab for my blog.

It's a tab that sits on the side of the screen but scrolls with the reader. So whenever they want to search your blog, they click the tab and a box slides out allowing them to search your blog or the web, search the blog is selected by default.

You can choose color of the tab, and it's location on your blog. Along with it being 100% free.
